At Longacre Equine, when teaching kids especially, we put high value in teaching them the “whole experience” of what goes into caring for an animal. We value safety above all else and teaching horses and riders to work together through cohesion and understanding. We start from the ground up; understanding the reasons behind a horse’s actions, the differences between people and horse communication, how to maneuver and understand a horse’s body, and how to handle difficult situations. Most of the time, it’s fun and incredibly rewarding, other times, the horses challenge rider’s beliefs and goals, and help them learn things about themselves that they may have never known or experienced before. The benefits of educating others through horses is a unique experience that can have life long rewards and enlightenment for all involved.
